Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan Participates in 50th Independence Anniversary of the Union of the Comoros
Moroni, 6th July 2025 – Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, represented the United Arab Emirates on behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the landmark 50th independence anniversary ceremony of the Union of the Comoros, hosted in the nation’s capital, Moroni.
The UAE delegation’s participation followed a cordial invitation from Azali Assoumani, President of the Comoros. During the event, Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan extended the greetings of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to President Assoumani. The Emirati leaders conveyed their wishes for continued development and prosperity for the government and people of the Comoros.
Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan further emphasized the UAE’s commitment to bolstering bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors and supporting the Comoros’ development efforts, highlighting the strong historical and brotherly ties binding the two nations.
For his part, President Azali Assoumani acknowledged the UAE’s ongoing support and praised the robust relationship as well as the commitment of the UAE’s leadership to fostering and expanding bilateral ties.
