Pakistan, Africa Business Councils Unite to Drive Trade in UAE
New MoU Signed During Ceremony Attended by Key Representatives in Dubai
DUBAI – In a significant step to bolster trade and economic cooperation, the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah and the Global Africa Trade Advisory Chamber have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing business collaboration across the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The signing ceremony, held at a local hotel in Dubai, brought together high-level delegates from both organizations. Dr SM Tahir, Chairman of the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah, and Dr Dominic Oduro Antwi, President of the Global Africa Trade Advisory Chamber, were the key signatories of the agreement.
Supporting the ceremony were other senior officials including Senior Vice Chairman Syed Saleem Akhtar, Salman Wissal, and Aamir Hassan, who underscored the importance of creating sustainable trade links between Pakistan and African nations via the UAE.
The MoU outlines mutual intentions to aid each other in identifying trade opportunities, tackling commercial challenges, and facilitating greater business development across the Emirates. Both councils agreed to team up on initiatives that could unlock potential for bilateral trade, investment partnerships, and entrepreneurial exchange.
Deputy Chairman Syed Saleem Akhtar hailed the UAE as “one of the world’s safest and most business-friendly environments,” noting its capacity to serve as a vital hub for entrepreneurs and investors from Pakistan and Africa. He emphasized that the agreement represents a strategic move to tap into those advantages.
The pact also aims at reinforcing trade with Ghana, reflecting a broader strategy to deepen economic integration between South Asia and Africa through the UAE’s dynamic trade platforms.
Leading the African delegation, Dr Dominic Oduro Antwi—a respected figure with over 15 years of experience in market research, branding, and advertising—brings a wealth of knowledge and proven expertise. Dr Dominic earned the Best Business & Trade Award in 2022 and has been ranked among Ghana’s top 100 influential personalities.
Members from the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah described the collaboration as “a forward-looking step toward increasing bilateral investment and trade engagement.”
The new alliance is expected to play a pivotal role in promoting commercial growth, knowledge sharing, and professional exchange, further cementing the UAE’s role as a global gateway for trade and innovation between continents.
