Abu Dhabi — H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has received Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC).
During their meeting in Abu Dhabi, discussions focused on the cooperation relations between the UAE and the AUC, and explored various ways to enhance collaboration in support of development efforts within African countries.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah congratulated Youssouf on his new appointment as the AUC Chairperson. According to Sheikh Abdullah, he expressed his eagerness to work with Youssouf “to advance and strengthen UAE–African relations across various fields”.
Sheikh Abdullah also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to deepening ties with the AUC and consolidating positive and prosperous relations with friendly African nations, aiming to fulfill shared aspirations for sustainable development and economic prosperity.
The two sides also reviewed regional and international developments and exchanged views on these topics.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, as well as Mohamed Salem Ahmed Al Rashdi, UAE Ambassador to Ethiopia and the country’s Permanent Representative to the African Union.
